Parents of children with disabilities typically go through cycles of grief that begin when parents first suspect their loved one has disability. Grieving repeats in new ways as we grow and adjust with our child. New life stages may reopen feelings of loss as young people encounter new limitations while peers are celebrating milestones such as starting school, obtaining a driver’s license, or leaving home. Janeen will lead an interactive session inviting parents to explore the cyclical journey of coming to terms with a child's disability.
