Brainstorming session on employment for young adults on the spectrum.

Thursday, January 24 at 7 p.m. at Eighth-Street Mennonite Church, Goshen, 602 S 8th St, Goshen

Families and others involved with those on the autism spectrum are invited to take part in a brainstorming and feedback session about the critical issue of work and employment  for young adults on the autism spectrum.

Jan Pilarski, a South Bend parent of a young adult son with autism and professor at Saint Mary's College, is developing a social venture, Green Bridge Growers, to be built around a core workforce of young adults with autism.

The Asperger Autism Group of Goshen is co-sponsoring this discussion to help explore the possibility of entrepreneurial employment for those with autism and to provide input that would be helpful in building businesses that are inclusive and supportive.  Come hear about the plans for this business, and share your insights about how to best design and structure this venture to tap into the many assets of those with autism.

Editor's note: Although the project is anticipated to develop employment for folks on the spectrum, no jobs are available yet.
