Autism at Notre Dame

...Research, services and resources for the autism spectrum at Notre Dame University will be the topic of the Asperger-Autism Group of Goshen's December 6 meeting.

Presenting will be Dr. Joshua Diehl, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology and Director of the F.U.N. Lab at the University of Notre Dame. The F.U.N. Lab is group of researchers, clinicians, and students who share a common interest in understanding neurodevelopmental disorders, including Autism, Asperger syndrome, PDD, and Dyslexia.

"Fighting for Breakthroughs in the Treatment of Autism" is a two-minute video featuring Diehl's research that uses robots to teach social skills to children on the autism spectrum. This video aired during a recent Notre Dame football game broadcast. Watch the video.

The Asperger-Autism Group of Goshen will meet December 6, 7-8:30 pm, at Eighth Street Mennonite Church, 602 S 8th Street, Goshen. The group's lending library will be available beginning at 6:45 pm.
